Is it just me or as anyone else noticed that…some of the Instagram rage-baiters are Real Estate agents?
Is that what the real estate market has come to?
Like I get it, it’s hard these days.
It’s hard selling homes worth S300K to the middle class for $2.7 million.
Why tell your Boomer clientele “no one will buy this for more than 700K,” when they’re just gonna complain about you, then try to sell it themselves?
And sure, the “house-flipping” craze between 2005-2013 convinced the most selfish and gullible generation that a bucket of paint and some new flooring would raise the home value by at least half a mil.
But for real…is that bad?
That…you’re trolling social media…?
I caught a clip of Gary Vee talking to someone in his early 30s. The guy was down on his luck, tried to open a business, failed, did some hustles, and so on… He felt like he was behind in life.
That part resonated a little bit, so I stayed…
Gary Vee, in truly Gary Vee fashion, was like…
“32, you’re 32. You’re still a f**king child.”
I’m paraphrasing, obviously, but the sentiment was that.
Gary gave the guy advice, some older bro coaching. It was good, very motivating.
And like you’re supposed to do…I went into the comments.
The first chunk of comments were like…
“Needed to hear that.”
“Yep, my uncle struck gold in his forties.”
“Been feeling down a lot, this helped.”
“Late-boomers are happier than those who hit it young.”
And so on…
Until about number 9 or 10…this blue-check-marked goon with a mouse-shaped head came in hot with an awkward family portrait headshot to say…
“No. You are behind. At 32, you should be financially independent. Get it together.”
Again, I’m paraphrasing, but the comment was condescending.
A part of me thought it was a parody account making dry funny responses.
No, it was a real estate agent.
It was a legit man with a family, multiple posts of him posing in front of restaurants and wild-font “six-figures in sales” over an image of a lazy sunset. It wasn’t AI either, I had a radar for that. They were that cookie-cutter, bad kind of professional photography. Also…I watched one of his “come check out this expensive restaurant I only go to when I am promoting my work” videos. Such a ham. Such a waddle he had.
He had maybe 3K followers. (So…he’s an IG baby, definitely not Gary Vee popular.)
I go back into the comments. He had 5 likes and 14 replies, all irritated. And the guy responded exactly as you’d expect, snarky and arrogant.
This was two months ago…
Three weeks ago,
…a similar comment…different dude, blue checkmark, Real Estate agent.
A week later,
…a freelance plumbing company with a wall of on-site pictures of tools causes a mild ruckus under the video of a woman telling a story.
Two hours ago…
…some rage-bait over something stupid leads back to a tattoo artist.
Now…tell me…has anyone else noticed this?
Are these AI bots (prepped with a ChatGpt backstory) designed to sow division?
OR…
Has the American economy gotten so bad that small business owners and pushy salesmen are turning to rage-bait to bring in clients?
It won’t work if its true, it might for a little bit, but not in the long run.
But seriously…has anyone else…seen these?
THE END
…and now I eagerly await your comments.
THE END AGAIN
